WHY I LIKE THOSE AWKS

Why does anyone put up with all the muses of the Awks? Why indeed. Those silly old wits like Anticant, Boldscot and Trousers are really there to tempt us into reflection. It is damned inconvenient but necessary. lavenderblue is not an old fart like those others mentioned above but she is equally a temptress always in disguise. That fluffy and all so cuddlesome Yellow Duck is equally a thorn in the flesh of certainties of the self. Why does anybody put up with all this traditional table talk on the blog?

Are the peasants revolting yet again? Maybe.
Are the (anti)intellectuals getting a grip again? Maybe.
Were the open(ed) knickers of the Guardian of Truth displaying a destiny that was never called for? Perhaps.

But I like it.
It is not that simple but I like it.
What the fuck more do you expect for a Friday!
It used to be pay day but today it is a new debt day.

And you are the drug I wish were in tablet form (with a luminous green z on it) and purchasable via the internet.

  4. You remind me of that comic - which one was it? - who used to say "oooh, you are AWFUL but I like you".

Thanks, BigZ. You even make the Beadle smile sometimes.

Actually, officially at least, I am not a member of the squad seeing as I have not had my own blog (that is soon to change).
I am just the bad penny that always turns up.

Good to see trousers in artistic mode that "Dick Emery" was .... well ... what can one say me darlings? That was Charlie Drake who added with dickie boy equals half of anticant in bed with the beadle.

  9. My good friend Merkin has just started 'BloggersOnTheRun'.
    Do drop in.
There is not much there at present but it will soon be very busy once he can work out how things work.

  10. I didn't know you eat zola for breakfast, trousers. What does it taste like?

  11. Where are you lurkin, Merkin? How can we drop in if you don't give us a link? On the run already? Beware - there's nowhere to hide - the Beadle will be after you....

Very unsavoury but strangely moreish anticant....

Merkin, you need (IMO at least) to allow access to people without blogger accounts in the same way, presumably, that anticant and zola do - I'd love to comment on your blog but as yet I can't.

  14. Unsavoury? Do you mean sweet and sickly? I prefer my Zolas dry and astringent, on the rocks.

  15. I have a blogger account, but can't find his budding blogsite - directions, please!

Click on his name (or drag it onto your main address bar) and that should take you there.

  17. Have located Lurkin Merkin, but still can't post there. Why does he want to moderate comments? Surely he hasn't forgotten how all hell broke loose when I presumed to do so in my arena - or where some of the rude comments came from. Only wimps moderate! Robust bloggers take pot luck.

Indeed. Well I respect his right to moderate comments, if he wants to (with, in turn, all due respect to your own experience) - but I don't fancy having to bother opening a google account or whatever, to be able to post on someone's site.

Hee Hee..........oops,sori......,I have every confidence in Merkin.
I feel very confident that when he awakes he will have another crack at getting into his own site...........
Having said that.......he has sprayed on many blogs........in the jungle, the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight............hmmmmmmmmmm - my theory-let sleping Merkins lie............any advice Very Welcome...............

  20. He CAN'T moderate. There's nothing "moderate" about the Awks. We're gloriously immoderate. Intemperate too, sometimes.

Don't get the collective knickers in a twist. Everything will be sorted once I can work out how to do it.
The original idea for 'Bloggers on the run' was to open this as part of the project that Lavvy and I are working on. I just wanted the name to be tied to us. To that end I wanted to set it so that only 'the usual suspects' would have a suitable periodic watering hole. However, my lack of technical nous has meant that no-one, including myself, is able to get access.
This will be remedied in due course. In due course. In due course. In due course.
    Watch this space.
Meanwhile, the wonderful LavvyBloo has mentally sabotaged the famous Beadle and 'Trousers Without a Face'. More to come, in due course.

  24. And don't forget that the mutual concentration which comprises the Merkin/Lavvy combo has also come up with some wonderful visualisations of the ZolaDeer. Wicked. Indeed.
