WHY I AM SO WISE AND CLEVER ...
It is because of FISH.

Skating on thin ice there Zola.

  5. So all is now revealed. 'Zola' is the nom de plume of Jenny Wings!

  6. In order to protect the good name and integrity of this blog-site I must make it clear that Jenny Wings are the side bits of Skate ( in a fish and chip shop you ask for skate and really get a jenny wing. Hotels do the same trick.)

However, as Anticant already gets into his mischief mode, whatever else a Jenny Wing might signify has nothing to do with this good moral blog.

This might, just might, prevent the likes of a Merkin googling about and writing something that would make our Anticant giggle.

I'm Jenny Wings - fly me!

  8. 'Telegraph' headline: "Baby born with two penises in Russia."

It doesn't say how many penises he's got in other countries.

    Sounds fishy to me.

Too many red herrings in this place.
I will come back when serious debate is back in fashion.

Don't be such a prim old trout, Professor. We're having a whale of a time here - come on in.

That isn't an iceberg ahead. It's just Zola's usual froth and spume.

  16. The Goodies sang :

    http://tinyurl.com/apcu5x

Oh oh oh, how I wish, I could buy myself a pet flat fish

But no one wants to sell their sole

A flounder or halibut would be very pally, but

You hardly ever see a skate, that hasn't been mashed on a plate

And so, I'm … ironing my goldfish, ironing my goldfish

A big steam iron on his face, I'll keep on trying 'til I get some plaice

Oh I'm ironing my goldfish, smoothing out his surplus fat

I know it's rather cruel but it's oh such fun

Ironing my goldfish flat, hey hey, ironing my goldfish flat

I tried to use a rolling pin, he only came out long and thin

Then I thought if he was squeezed beneath

A small elephant a day, he'd look like a manta ray

But I couldn't make my goldfish squash, 'til I put him in with the wash

And now, I'm … ironing my goldfish, ironing my goldfish

And now he's like a tobacco leaf, I wear him in my pocket like a handkerchief

Oh ironing my goldfish, I use him as a table mat

I know it's rather cruel but it's oh such fun

Ironing my goldfish flat, hey hey, ironing my goldfish flat

He's rather like a turbot with the shiny nose

Ironing my goldfish flat … and that's that! [splat!]

  17. This site is not floundering all it needs is a little touch up here and there.
Perhaps a dab of paint here and a dab of paing there just to stop the moral majority pouting.

  18. Merkin : One should always put the goldfish and the others through the mangle before ironing.
    Hope that helps.

  20. Would you believe we used to do that song - early eighties when I used to be straight man for a singing comedian?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I quite agree Live (abused)Lobster.

Merky Boy : In a nutshell the answer is YES. I believe it.

But now would you believe that Skate has always been the fishermans friend.
( Jenny Wings links to this, of corse)

The Skate has a a opening that is SOOOO much like a human pussy. Damn it now we have cats in this silly conversation.
Anyway where the apricot failed the skate prevailed.
    So there.
    Put this under "Cultural History".

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well, I don't believe it. Merkin a straight man? Never!

If you require me to undertake a Skate Opening, there is a large fee attached.

You will find the details in the Encyclopaedia of Fishy Tales otherwise known as "Thinking to Some Porpoise".
