SUNDAY POST
The infamous and glorious cricket-chap, Mr G Boycott, says "adversity never breaks a good man". ( Boycott was also slow on the score-scale but he sure did score). Boycott has often been labelled as a man who needed a mother and not a girlfriend or companion-in-lust. So I thought on this good Sunday I would seek out a women-friendly response.
This far I come-up with : " Adversity in men often makes a good woman".

I had a female cousin who belonged to an all-woman cricket team during WW2. They bowled overarm, and the male spectators used to shout "Show a leg, girl!"

A drinking mate of Inspector Morse was heard joking about the way he had run out Boycott.
Partner had run out of patience with the slow blocker Boycott. This partner was anyway playing with a hangover. Guess you know his name.
